It is a lucky day when you get invited to my friend Maryellen’s home! Because you know it will always be a delightful visit.Just inside the door is the beautifully set table. (Not to be confused with the other dining room table)Maryellen has a wonderful assortment of table cloths, napkins, placemats and napkin rings. Every invitation is a treat for the senses. Plus delicious food. There is always a theme for the season. This is a mid winter setting for a Friday night in Lent! When Maryellen and Steve renovated this house they raised the ceiling in the family room and added the gorgeous beams. They took the fireplace stone to the ceiling and added the fabulous chandelier. Note the framed flat screen tv. The frame is just leaning against the tv. What a great idea!Maryellen applied this wall stencil to her mantle. She got it at the Dollar Store. “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord”. And they do. Every where you look is another lovely vignette. She has an adorable wood island table in her kitchen on which she always has a charming display. An awkward ceiling above this mantel got Maryellen’s problem solving skills in action. Clever solution of three vintage oil paintings. In Maryellen’s elegant bathroom the floor to ceiling curtain covers a dated shower that isn’t used. Again creativity persists with a vintage stand for the sink. Stones in the sink add whimsy.Everywhere you turn is a vignette to admire. I will try to capture more next time and use my tripod so I can get some better pictures. There is so much more and she changes her decor with the seasons. Lovely! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality Maryellen and Steve.
