Decorating your front porch is similar to decorating any room in the house. Chairs, sofas, coffee table and end tables arranged in seating areas create comfortable vignettes. Even a rug on the porch floor helps to add coziness and anchor the furniture. This coastal porch is my “turquoise” wicker theme. Believe it or not all of the furniture on the porch was old, some of it was beat up and most had ugly colors. My husband painted almost everything with a sprayer using Behr Premium paint and primer. Some of the pieces I painted by hand with a paint brush. A few items were spray painted with Rustoleum. The total cost was a fraction of the cost of new furniture.Summer time is Porch time.
A few years back while at the beach for a week, my daughter suggested we keep reading books on the porch when we got home so we could prolong the vacation feel. Though it seemed I only read fiction while on vacation, I adopted the habit at home, when I could, for the rest of the summer. Reading on the porch is an enjoyable way to prolong vacation and really take advantage of summer weather.
